Larry H. Shore, age 72, passed away Friday, November 11, 2022, at Peace Hospice in Great Falls, Montana, after a courageous battle with cancer.
He was born May 16, 1950, to Maxine and Bill Shore in Great Falls, MT. Larry spent most of his early years in Havre, MT, where he graduated from high school. After high school, Larry was drafted into the U.S. Army to serve in Vietnam. He received several medals for honorable service.
Larry married Debbie Kuhr in 1971 and they had a son, Ryan.
Larry began his life journey in the family business as part of Shore's Floral. He had a gift for design at both the Havre and Chinook locations, but his real passion was to become a rock and roll drummer. While pursuing his dream of music, Larry met his wife of 35 years, Diane Boroski and became part of a new family with four young children; Leann, Mari, Joe, and Tony.
While waiting for the Eagles to look over his application for vocals and drummer, Larry worked as a custodian for Choteau Public Schools, in Choteau, Montana.
Larry and Diane later moved to Minnesota where he retired from the Elk River School District as head custodian.
Larry and Diane ultimately retired to Circle, Montana, to live closer to the Shore family. Don Henley had likely lost Larry's address after so many moves, so he settled for local bands and burst into song whenever the mood struck. Larry was also a man of many jokes, most of which are unsuitable for print, but he was a joy to most who knew him and forget the rest!
Larry was preceded in death by his wife Diane; parents, Bill and Maxine; brother Robert; sister Wilma "Corky" Curtiss and brother-in-law LuVerne "Doc" Curtiss, and brother-in-law Les Dolezal.
He is survived by his sister Charlotte Dolezal of Surprise, AZ; his daughter, Leann Shore of Richfield, MN; his daughter Mari of Choteau, MT, and her sons Quaid and Bailey; his son Joe Boroski of Dutton, MT, and his children Paige, Dominique, Tristan and Haleigh; his son Ryan Smith and wife Krista of Great Falls, MT, and their sons Kevin and Kody; and Tony and his wife Lisa Shore of Monticello, MN and his children, Trenton (Theresa and baby Amelia), Breanna (Andres), and Lyle. He has numerous nieces and nephews whom he loved dearly as well as many wonderful friends, including Bernie Hubbard of Hot Springs, MT, and his best friend Dan Holbrook of Bouse, AZ.
Cremation has taken place. A celebration of life will be planned for Summer 2023. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorial gifts be made to Benefis Peace Hospice of Montana c/o Benefis Foundation, 1200 25th St S, Great Falls, MT 59405.
