Letter to the Editor - Mueller will be missed for his support

Editor,

As president of the Friends of Music Booster Club for the music department of Havre Public Schools, I had the absolute pleasure to work with Havre Superintendent Craig Mueller.

Not only did he support the arts within the school district, but he personally put himself out in front of the School Board and the entire surrounding community to bring attention to these unbelievably talented groups of kids. When we as parents thought we were defeated, he stepped in and made sure the Havre High Marching Band went to competition in Idaho this year.

They were his kids through and through, and every day that he was present at the high school he always made his way to the music wing to say “Hi” to whoever was around. He always had a positive or witty way of bringing a smile to these kids’ faces, hence, why the Pep Band started bringing a giant cut out of Mr. Mueller’s head to all the games they attended.

Mr. Mueller was more than just an administrator, he was one of the biggest, if not the biggest advocate we have ever had in Havre. He attended every concert, every local game, and even outside school productions that these kids were in. This year he teamed up with our local Montana Actors’ Theatre at MSU-Northern and helped to create, fundraise for, and execute the new monthly Youth Workshop Program designed to teach youth ages 12-19 various aspects of theater.

Without him, none of this would have been possible, and we as students, parents, colleagues and fellow community members want to thank the entire Mueller family from the bottom of our hearts for sharing with us this wonderful life for the past 10 years. He will truly be missed and will always be an honorable member of the Havre Public Schools music program. Blue-yah!
