People have a chance to see a different approach to teaching estate planning with Wildflower Reflections about Estate Planning set for two sessions Wednesday.
“If you think estate planning is a boring topic, then you haven’t been to one of Marsha Goetting’s presentations,” a release about the presentation said. ‘Goetting has enhanced her presentions by combining her appreciation of Montana wildflowers with her desire to help you remember strategies that can help you achieve your estate planning goals.”
Goetting, a professor and Extension family economics specialist at Montana State University in Bozeman, has presented more than 800 workshops reaching more than 25,000 Montanans with financial and estate planning information. She also has authored over 75 MontGuides and bulletins and has received national, regional, and state awards for her financial management and estate planning programs.
The Extension “Estate Planning Challenging Decisions” presentation of “Wildflower Reflections about Estate/Legacy Planning,” runs from 2-4 p.m. and again from 7-9 p.m. Wednesday in the Hill County 4-H Chuckwagon on the Great Northern Fairgrounds.
Issues addressed include asking the questions, “Do you know who will receive your property if you die without an estate plan?”
“Do you know how title on your real and personal impacts who receives it upon your death?” and
“Do you know how you can avoid probate of your estate?”
The event, with sponsors including the Montana Community Foundation and Hill County Community Foundation, is free and open to the public.
