Parents looking for a trick-or-treat events without the need to visit neighborhood houses have a number of options this year, with organizations around the area providing opportunities.
Among other events, Great Northern Fairgrounds is hosting two activities. Along with the Havre Jaycees Haunted House, opening at 7 p.m. each night through Halloween, the Great Northern Fairgrounds will also have a trunk-or-treat event going on Halloween night from 5:30 to 9 p.m. with decorated cars and prizes for the children.
Fairgrounds Manager Frank English said they are still looking for more volunteers to pass out candy.
Monday, people can join the Montana State University-Northern athletic teams and other campus groups for a trunk-or-treat in the upper parking lot of Northern’s Armory gymnasium from 4-5:30 p.m. The event is open to children 12 and under. Kids’ games, prizes, and goodies will be available. People can enter on 13th Street and parking will be available.
District 4 HRDC at 2229 Fifth Ave. also is doing a trunk-or-treat. That event starts at 3 p.m. Monday in HRDC’s Fireside Room and is planned to run until 5 p.m.
Havre’s Holiday Village Mall is holding a Halloween trick or treat parade set for 5-7 p.m. Monday.
In Blaine County, Harlem Elementary Schools will have their trunk-or-treat event from 1-3 p.m. and the county health department in Chinook will have one from 6-7 p.m. on Indiana Street.
Sweet Memorial Nursing Home will also have a trick-or-treat event from 5-7 p.m.
