MSU-N spikers visit rival Argos tonight in Great Falls

Time is ticking away on the Frontier Conference' volleyball regular season. And the Montana State University-Northern Skylights have a big match tonight.

MSU-N (11-8) is on the road to face arch rival Providence tonight, the start of a big week for the Skylights, who are 3-3 in the Frontier and are tied with Carroll College for third place in the league standings.

Northern is coming off a tough home loss to Rocky Mountain College, but the Skylights have shown to be a team able to bounce back all season long, and that's what they'll be looking to do tonight against the Argos.

The Skylights beat the Argos 3-1 in Havre last month, and they'll rely on their defense to again lead the way. Northern averages two blocks per set, as well as six aces per match. The Skylights are also fourth in the league in digs with 469.

Offensively, MSU-N comes into tonight's match third in the league in kills with 265, third in total attacks and third in assists. And Northern will need to be sharp on both sides of the net as they try to snap a two-match losing streak heading into their final home match of 2022.

The Skylights host Montana Western Saturday in their home finale. First up, though, is tonight's match against the Argos, which starts at 7 at the McLaughlin Center in Great Falls.
