A headline and story in Friday’s edition of Havre Daily News about a Hill County officials meeting misreported that Hill County Superintendent of Schools Vicki Proctor recommended capping school enrollment in county schools. Proctor only was referring to schools she supervises directly, rural schools without their own superintendent. More students are seeking to transfer to Hill County’s rural schools to seek smaller class sizes to recover from impacts of the pandemic. Proctor said the schools are full, and she recommends not taking more students at the moment.
An after-school program she also talked about at Davey Public School also was misreported as being k-12. The program is for kindergarten through second graders.
