Prime rib dinner offered in Chinook by Friends of the Pool and Park

The Friends of the Pool and Park Foundation is hosting a prime rib fundraiser dinner Saturday, October 22, in Chinook at the Eagles Club starting at 6 p.m.

People are invited to come and enjoy delicious prime rib, green beans, garlic mashed potatoes, a roll and carrot cake for $40 per plate.

“We are also delivering, should you wish to support the fundraiser but don’t want to physically attend,” representatives of the foundation said in a press release. “To get your delivery, call or text your order to 406-390-6233 and we will bring it to you within 2 miles of Chinook.

“There will also be a Silent Auction as well and we will be bringing in a plethora of fun items to bid on including a very nice jewelry set from Sugar Plum Jewelry,” the release added. “You won’t want to miss it!”

The release said the support of all fundraising that the organization has been doing has been greatly supported and the foundation truly appreciate the community rallying together to help make the repairs to the pool and park happen.

The foundation was formed in 2020 with the primary goal of making repairs and improvements to the pool and to Sweet Park.

The Chinook Swimming Pool was built in 1976 and has surpassed the life expectancy of an outdoor pool, especially with the harsh winters normally seen on the Hi-Line.

The foundation has praised the work the City of Chinook has done to maintain the pool, but since no special repair fund was created for the pool, the foundation is trying to raise money for repairs and upgrades.

It also is working toward creating an ongoing fund to maintain and repair the pool and the park as needed.
