Tate Nelson, Havre High Football
The Havre High football team is on one great run right now. And the Ponies capped that run with a huge homecoming win over Lockwood last Friday night that included a big performance from junior Tate Nelson. Nelson rushed for 157 yards and two touchdowns against the Lions. Nelson is one of the top rushers in the Eastern A this season. He scored on runs of three and 11 yards while running the ball 26 times as Havre improved to 5-2.
Avery Carlson, Havre High Volleyball
It was a happy homecoming for the Havre High volleyball team, and one big reason why was senior Avery Carlson. In Havre's dominant win over Miles City last Saturday, Carlson had a great all-around match, totaling 13 kills, 11 digs and a service ace. Carlson has been one of Havre's top hitters all season long. She's also an All-State performer in basketball and softball at HHS, and helped the Pony netters reach last year's state championship match.
