Obituary - Stephany L. 'Fannie' Simac Ehlert

Stephany L. "Fannie" Simac Ehlert of Winifred, 91, died Thursday night October 6, 2022, at home surrounded by her family.

She was born June 6, 1931, in Winifred the daughter of Kuzma and Johanna Simac. She attended school in Winifred. While working for the Heggems she met her future husband, Howard Ehlert. They were married August 5, 1949.

Fannie was a member of the Holy Family Catholic Church in Winifred. She was active in the Women's club, Garden club, Holy Family Alter Society, and the American Legion Auxiliary. She enjoyed gardening, quilting, cooking, baking, raising chickens, playing Yahtzee and cribbage, and following her children's and grandchildren's activities.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Howard; parents, Kuzma and Johanna (Pipinich); sisters Helen, Stephany, Anne, Mary, Margaret, Rosie, Katy, Joan, and brothers Joe, John, and Jerry.

She is survived by her sons, Mark (Pam) of Havre, Jeff (Jolene), Steve, Wes (Kristine Manley), Alan (Carol), Robert (Vicki), Tom, all of Winifred, and her daughters, Joan (Mike Lipp) of Hingham, Lisa (Byron Ophus) of Havre, Nancy of Winifred and Marguerite of Spokane, WA. She is also survived by numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews; siblings Dicy Smith, Lucy Carr, Nancy Bates, Bobby Simac, Jim (Bev) Simac and brother-in-law Dwayne Runyan.

Vigil services for Fannie will be held Thursday, October 13, 2022, at 7:00 p.m. and a funeral mass will be held Friday, October 14, 2022, at 10:00 a.m., all at St. Leo's Catholic Church in Lewistown, with committal to follow at the Winifred Cemetery. Please join the family at the Winifred Community Center for a luncheon following committal.

Cloyd Funeral Home and Cremation Service is assisting the family with arrangements. Friends are asked to make memorials to the Winifred Endowment or the charity of their choice and they may be left at the Cloyd Funeral Home.
