Throughout most of the season, the Havre High cross country teams will compete in regular meets where the runners race together as a team. But on Thursday in Helena, the Blue Ponies competed in the Capital City 7 of 7, where the top seven runners from the HHS boys and girls teams competed individually.
There were seven races each on the boys and girls side on Thursday. An individual Pony competed in each race depending on their personal record for the team. For example, the runner with the best time competed in the first race. Then the runner with the second-best time this season ran in the second race and so on and so forth.
As they competed by themselves, the Ponies put their best foot forward in their races. In the ones race, Caleb Tomac ran for the Ponies as he posted a time of 16:32.83 to finish eighth out of 32 runners. In the twos race, Brody Henry finished 23rd with a time of 18:44.40. In the threes race, Zack May represented Havre as he finished with a time of 18:32.82 to take 23rd in the race.
