Grief Poem - Grieving is Hard

"Don't grieve for me," is what you said, then off you went at noon.

We were not there to "see you go" - but we might join you soon.

You could NOT stay another day to love, to work to play;

Some tasks were truly left undone - but they must stay that way.

We know that God reached for your hand, and took you Home with Him

And as you crossed the Jordon's shore, you probably sang a Hymn.

Life is a lovely memory while death is silent grief.

Our dear one sleeps in God's Garden in sunshine and perfect peace.

We miss our dear ones, oh, so much, but know God's way is best.

Still missed and loved and always dear, God bids them perfect rest.

Sadly, we miss our dear ones gone while we try not to grieve.

And some time "SOON" when God calls us, our time will come to leave.

Inside our hearts are aching still, it never seems to end.

Your leaving left a sadness, dear, a wound that will not mend.

Remembering you, who've gone away, gone into silent land,

Oh - hopeless grief is passionless; you no more hold my hand.

We're born to die, the Good Book says, right now we're in the "dark."

But someday soon, we'll fly away and SING like Heavenly Lark!

Then we will know love[1] at its best, God waits for us above.

He sees us here and cares for us, enfolds us in HIS LOVE!

We know dear, Lord, when loved ones left, that day to You they flew.

We'll keep Your love in us, oh, Lord, as we wait here for you.
