Havre High cross country teams take fifth in Miles City Invitational

With the postseason looming, the Havre High cross country teams are looking to find their stride. The Blue Ponies continued to work on their times as they competed at the Custer County Invitational in Miles City this past Saturday. In their races, both the HHS boys and girls teams finished fifth.

The HHS boys team scored 171 points to finish fifth out of 15 teams in its race. Sheridan scored 39 points as a team to finish first while Hardin took second and Laurel took third. In the girls meet, the Ponies scored 148 points to take fifth. Hardin scored 38 points to win the girls race with Sheridan finishing second and Glasgow finishing third.

In the boys race, Caleb Tomac took fifth with a time of 16:29.64. Brody Henry came in 28th with a time of 17:51.18 and Zack May took 32nd with a time of 18:00.07. Ezra Goldhahn took 57th and Mason Gregoire took 63rd in the race. In the rear, Dylan Kunz finished 106th and Dodson Corner finished 115th.

In the girls race, Hailey Gingery finished 13th with a time of 19:54.91. Jayla Meldrum took 26th with a time of 21:10.59 and Paige Anderson finished 37th with a time of 22:51.08. Clara Haslem came in 44th with a time of 22:58.96 and Hannah Kinsella took 47th with a time of 23:09.12. Gracie Shandorf finished 48th and Ariel Ost took 59th to round out the race for the Ponies.

The HHS cross country teams will wrap up the regular season later this week. The Ponies will first head on down to Helena for the Helena Invitational 7/7 this Thursday before wrapping up the week with the Malta Invitational Saturday.
