Obituary - August M. 'Gus' Sjogren II

August M. “Gus” Sjogren II, 68, passed away due to natural causes at his sister’s residence Tuesday, September 27, 2022.

Cremation has taken place, and private family graveside services will be held at a later date.

Holland & Bonine Funeral Home has been entrusted with arrangements.

Gus was born January 3, 1954, in Martinez, CA, to Gus and Melvia (Thompson) Sjogren. He was raised all over the country. After high school, he worked in construction until his retirement.

Gus enjoyed working on cars and having a “cold one” with his cronies.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Gus and Melvia Sjogren; the love of his life, “Nettie;” the mother of his daughter, Teri Marshall; his grandparents; numerous aunts and uncles, and his good friend, Buzz Hawley.

Gus is survived by his daughter, Melina (Roy) Carls of Novato, CA; five grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; siblings, Katie Kappel, Donald Cooney, Gary Sjogren, Melanie Vinberg, Harvey Jones and Keith Sjogren; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends.
