Hi-Line Volleyball: CJI knocks off Fort Benton, Chinook wins twice

Last week marked a milestone in high school volleyball, as the Hi-Line reached the halfway point in the 2022 regular season.

The week started with Big Sandy and North Star facing off last Tuesday, while no scorers were reported. The action continued Thursday, as Harlem took down Class C North Country in a non-conference match. In a District 7C match, Highwood defeated Box Elder in three sets, by scores of 25-10, 25-15 and 25-16.

Chinook garnered back-to-back wins last week, as the Sugarbeeters defeated North Star in three sets, by scores of 25-11, 25-20 and 25-21. The Beeters also swept Centerville, by scores of 25-12, 26-24 and 25-22, led by Hallie Neibauer with 12 kills and Bree Swanson with three blocks.

The Chester-Joplin-Inverness Hawks also got a big District 7C win last week, as they defeated North Star in four sets. The Hawks won by scores of 25-14, 25-21, 16-25 and 26-24. Casha Corder led Fort Benton with 27 assists and five aces.

No other scores or stats were reported to the Havre Daily News by press time. This weekend, area volleyball will feature mid-season tournaments at North Star and Fort Benton.
