Hello, God, it's me, Mara - A key

You know, Lord, scenery is beautiful almost any time of the day or season. Just the other day, the clouds were stunningly beautiful. Chatting with several friends that day, we wait for You to call us home, Lord, so we can see the "other side" of the clouds, stars, moon and planets. 

One gal asked, "How do we get up there to be with Jesus?" Several gave replies, but they looked at each other like, "I don't think that is how 'that' happens." One gal giggled, suggesting that everyone probably needs a key to get into heaven. Two nearly argued about that - neither of them knowing how that might happen.

"Dede" suggested "we" look in the Good Book to find the answer. A bit of time passed, then one gal found a small Bible in her purse.  She mentioned she'd recently read the answer to that question. Looking in Romans, she asked: "Are you ready to learn about the 'key'?" Quiet fell, she read Romans {NLT}10:9-10. "Verse 9: If you openly declare that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised Him for the dead, you will be saved. 10: For it is by believing in your heart that you are made right with God, and it is by openly declaring your faith that you are saved."

Silence fell - the girls were quiet for a moment, then Dede said, "The verse reminds me of my grandma. When we were little kids visiting her, she'd tell us HOW to get to Heaven. That's been so long ago, I'd totally forgotten. Thanks for sharing."

Then "S. O." asked, "If we four pray those words and BELIEVE them, would that work to give us the key to heaven?"

Then prayers, then some "halleluiahs" from all four - so happy to know that we'd found the key and knew Jesus loves us and we knew where we were going.
