Now it's really on.
After a couple of weekends of preseason tournaments to start the 2022 high school volleyball season, the regular season action was in full swing on the Hi-Line this past week.
Last Tuesday night saw Fort Benton take care of Box Elder in a sweep, by scores of 25-11, 25-9 and 25-10. The Longhorns got 16 assists and seven aces from Casha Corder in the win. Tuesday night also saw Big Sandy fall to Highwood in another District 7C matchup.
In another huge 7C showdown Thursday night, Fort Benton outlasted Chinook by scores of 25-21, 26-24, 15-25, 19-25 and 15-12. Emerson Giese had 30 kills for the Longhorns, who fought off a valiant comeback effort by the Sugarbeeters.
In other 7C action, Big Sandy downed Box Elder and Chester-Joplin-Inverness swept the Hays-Lodge Pole Thunderbirds.
On Saturday, Chinook was looking to bounce back from the tough loss to Fort Benton, but the Beeters fell to Highwood by scores of 25-16, 25-13 and 25-18 as the Mountaineers remained undefeated in the 7C. CJI also battled Centerville.
In Class B action this weekend, Harlem beat Rocky Boy, but the Wildcats also fell to Glasgow.
No other scores or box scores were reported by press time.
