The Festival of Quilts, a show and contest hosted by the Hi-Line Quilt Guild at Festival Days each year, is still accepting submissions to the event until Sept. 10.
The festival allows local quiltmakers, guild members or not, to show off their work to be judged by the guild and attendees.
Karen Pollington, one of the event’s primary organizers said, people can drop off their quilts for the show at Bearly Square Quilting from now until Sept. 9 and the final day to register a submission is the next day at the old Famous Footware location at the Holiday Village Mall. There is no entry fee for the event.
Pollington said the event will feature a number of categories, including one for people 16 and younger. People can vote for their favorite quilt, though some award categories are open for everyone to vote, and others are specifically for guild members.
She said the event will also feature a miniraffle of pieces made by guild members that people can buy chances to win.
New this year, she said, they will also be selling handmade Christmas decorations which people can buy outright.
The event will run on Friday and Saturday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and from noon to 3 p.m. Sunday, when they will draw winners for the raffle.
