Members of the Rotary Youth Golf League pose for a photo after completing the summer season last Tuesday at Prairie Farms Golf Course. The summer league is put on by former Havre High state champion Jeremy Jensen, and was open to golfers entering grades 6-9. Now, the Blue Pony golf season begins with the annual Havre Invitational this Thursday at both Prairie Famrs and Beaver Creek.
It's playoff time for golf leagues all around the area.
Last week, the ladies at Prairie Farms Golf Course got their playoffs started on Thursday night. In the opening round, Patrick Construction beat Tilleman Motors 18.5-17.5, Northern Montana Hospital took out Goodrich Excavation 19.5-16.5, D.A. Davidson beat Prairie Farms 18.5 to 17.5 and Charlies Heating and Air knocked off Scharfe, Kato and Co. 21-15. The semifinals will be held this Thursday.
Men's league at Prairie Farms will begin its playoffs tonight. In last week's regular season finale, Prairie Farms, Patrick Construction and Hole 19 each scored 22 points for high team. Jordy Donovan shot a stellar 2-under 34 for low gross and Kyle Sheppard was low net. Tire Rama won the second half of the regular season for Tuesday.
Last Wednesday saw Gallery Lounge take high-team honors with 21.5 points, while Jimmy Kato lit up the course with a 3-under 33. Jeffery Ralph was low net with a 20. Baltrusch Outfitting won the second half standings for Wednesday.
In the playoffs, Tire Rama will face Loch Electric, Mother Putters takes on HUB Insurance, Hole 19 battles Havre Laundry, Rock Solid takes on Baltrusch Outfitting, Cowan & Sons will play Gallery Lounge, Vic's Place battles Master Sports, Prairie Farms plays Korb Construction and Duscher Kapperud Insurance plays Independence Bank.
Men's playoffs at Beaver Creek Golf Course will start next week.
Also, last week marked the end of the Rotary Youth Summer League put on by former Havre High standout golfer Jeremy Jensen. The nine-hole tournament, for golfers grades 6-9 was held last Tuesday at Prairie Farms. The results are as follows: Red tees: Kaden Larson 54, Hayden Jensen 59, Luke Stevenson 60, Brayden McLain 60. 150 yard division: Coyle Redding 23, Chazlie Cripps 40, Eli Solomon 52. Girls division Katie Tilleman 62, Josie Stevenson 63, Danielle Kovacich 68.
Also, don't forget to sign up for men's and women's club championships at Prairie Farms, and Beaver Creek, which are coming up soon.
