Havre Police Department

A two-vehicle non-injury crash involving a Toyota and an Acura was reported at 6:35 a.m. Wednesday.

Officers, an ambulance and fire truck responded to a head-on collision reported on U.S. Highway 2 East at 9:15 a.m. Wednesday. Havre Fire Chief Nathan Courtnage said one person involved in the crash was transported to the hospital and the other refused service.

A Fifth Avenue caller reported Wednesday at 9:28 a.m. that a lawnmower being hauled rolled off a trailer and someone had picked it up, but it hadn't been returned to the caller.

Two arrests were made after a caller on First Street Northeast reported Wednesday at 5:35 p.m. that a woman was wandering in a field while a small child was left alone in the apartment, and a 5:56 p.m. caller on Second Street reported that a man and woman had fighting in the middle of a city street and then headed down an alley and child was being pushed unsafely in a stroller. No details on the charges were provided in the dispatch log, but Meaghan Rose Tuomala, who was named as an involved party in both calls, was listed in the Thursday jail roster as being held on a charge of endangering the welfare of children and two counts of failure to appear. Brandon James Belgarde, named as an involved party in the second call, was listed in that jail roster as being held on charges of endangering the welfare of children, obstructing a peace officer or other public servant and violation of a no contact order.

A Wednesday 10:03 p.m. caller on Fourth Street reported that three men stole items out of his vehicle then took off running onto Second Street.

A theft was reported at 10:45 p.m. Wednesday at a First Street West business.

Hill County Sheriff's Office

No arrests, summons or investigations were listed in the sheriff's office dispatch log.

Montana Highway Patrol

Troopers were called to U.S. Highway 2 near the west edge of Blaine County shortly after midnight Wednesday morning. A 1999 GMC SUV headed eastbound with four juvenile occupants rolled after the driver swerved to miss a deer, Trooper Dan Ohl said. The vehicle came to rest on its top facing west. One occupant was not wearing a seat belta and was ejected from the vehicle. All occupants were transported to Northern Montana Hospital, Ohl said, adding that he believes all four have been released, as well.

Havre Fire Department

Emergency medical technicians responded to three calls Wednesday, and a fire crew responded with the EMTs to a crash at 9:16 a.m.

Havre Animal Shelter

The shelter Wednesday morning held seven 9-week-old kittens, three 7-week-old kittens and one 5-week-old kitten all of unknown gender, six female cats, a male 15-week-old kitten, four male cats, two male and one female 11-week-old kittens and a female 18-week-old kitten.

The shelter also held two male mixed breed dogs, a female 22-week-old Labrador retriever, a male Labrador retriever, three male and a female 8-month-old mixed-breed puppies, a female mixed-breed dog and a male pit bull-border collie cross, plus a male mixed-breed dog was being fostered.
