Crossroads Hair and Design has moved to a new location at 319 Second St. a location that has allowed them to expand their offering of beauty products to customers and area stylists.
Crossroads Owner Amanda Hammond said she'd been looking for a bigger location for a while and this move has been a big step for her business.
Hammond said they've been in the new building since the end of May, but they had a grand re-opening last week to let everyone know they're open for business in a new location.
"It's been really good," she said. " ... I love it."
She said Crossroads offers a full suite of services for hair, nails and skin, but she's been wanting to expand her retail selection, which this location has allowed her to do.
She said there aren't really any local suppliers for stylists so she and others would either need to drive to Great Falls or wait for sales representatives to come to the area, which only happens once a month.
Hammond said she's hoping she can give her fellow stylists a place to get supplies so they don't have to spend as much on bulk orders and can make emergency purchases more easily.
She said the new space also allows her to sell more products directly to customers.
She said she has a lot of allergies, so she tries to carry natural products, and she tries to offer different things than other salons in the area so they're not directly competing.
Hammond said Crossroads offers haircuts for the men, women and children, as well as facial waxing and manicures.
However, she said, she'd like to start offering pedicures and full body waxing by this fall.
She said her store seeks to be a one-stop-shop for beauty needs, and she started the business in 2016 because there wasn't really anything like that in the area.
"I wanted somewhere that would be able to bring people in for all services," she said.
Hammond said things have been good for the business even through the pandemic.
She said they were shut down for about a month in 2020 like almost everyone else, but immediately after they saw a huge influx of business.
"That was our biggest summer to date," she said.
Hammond said men especially were really pining to come back after that one-month-or-so shutdown.
Crossroads is open 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesday through Friday, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday and noon to 5 p.m. Monday.
