The Montana State University-Northern volleyball team is set to begin preparing for the 2022 season later this week. But, head coach Jerry Wagner is still adding to the roster as well.
Wagner announced the signing of Billings Senior High School standout D'Lorah Cedillo to join the Skylights program next year.
“When I first saw D'Lorah playing club volleyball this spring, I witnessed a player that was athletic, well skilled and hardworking,” Coach Wagner said. “What intrigued me was the confidence and the passion that D'Lorah played with on the court and that same passion carried on to cheering for her teammates when she was off the court.”
Cedillor is a 5-foot-11 middle from Billings. D'Lorah helped her team to take Third Place at state this year. She was also on the Honor Roll all four years of high school with a GPA of 3.6.
“D'Lorah is a recruit that will have a positive impact on this team and program. I believe I will have many more opportunities to comment on D'Lorah's contributions to the program as she begins her career,” Wagner said.
D'Lorah will be studying nursing, while playing volleyball. Cedillo is the daughter of Jacob and Muriel Cedillo.
“I'm very pleased that D'Lorah will be joining this strong group of current Skylights. D'Lorah, along with our other new signees, will look to build on a successful 2021 season,” Wagner said.
“MSU-Northern is a great fit for D'Lorah academically and athletically. She will be pursuing a Nursing degree.”
When asked why she chose Northern she replied: “I chose MSU-N because I thrive on close relationships and a well-rounded education. These class sizes will lead me to a stronger relationship with my professor's and classmates. I believe the campus and my team will be a perfect fit for me. The Nursing Program is exactly what I'm looking for. I look forward to being a proud future skylight.”
