David Richard Place of Rudyard, 54, was arrested on a shoplifting charge and three Justice or City court warrants after a shoplifter was reported at a First Street business Wednesday at 5:21 p.m.

A summons was issued related to a report that a man’s finger had been bitten off by a pit bull Wednesday at 5:47 p.m. on Second Street Northeast. No details on charges were provided.

A drug patch violation was reported at the police station at 6:42 p.m. Wednesday.

A 13-year-old and and a 12-year-old were each issued a summons on a disorderly conduct charge and a 14-year-old was issued a summons on charges of disorderly conduct and obstructing a peace officer or other public servant after a Third Street caller reported Wednesday at 9:09 p.m. that three girls were throwing firecrackers into people’s yards.

A caller on First Street reported Wednesday at 9:14 p.m. that a residence had been struck by a vehicle. Police said this morning the witness said it was an extended-cab pickup, possibly silver or gold, make and model unknown. The crash caused extensive damage to the apartment and moved the sink and stove off of the wall, but no one in the residence was injured. The crash is under investigation.

Gabriel Manuel B. Hofrenning of Havre, 25, was arrested on a Justice or City court warrant and charges of obstructing a peace officer or other public servant and resisting arrest after a Wednesday 11:52 p.m. caller on 11th Street reported that a child’s father had come to collect belongings but was causing a disturbance.
Hill County Sheriff’s Office
Deputies served two Justice.City court warrants on David Richard Place of Rudyard, 54, at the Hill County Detention Center at 8:36 p.m. Wednesday.
Montana Highway Patrol
Montana Highway Patrol was called to a 10:39 a.m. Wednesday vehicle crash with an injury near mile marker 422 on U.S. Highway 2 west of Harlem. Highway Patrol reports a vehicle attempted to pass a tractor pulling a hay baler and when the driver realized she couldn’t pass attempted to pull back into the driving lane and hit the tractor. The driver of the vehicle, who sustained minor injuries, was issued some citations and her vehicle was heavily damaged and the tractor also was damaged.
Havre Fire Department
Emergency medical technicians responded to five calls Wednesday and two calls early Thursday morning.

A response from a fire crew and an ambulance to a vehicle crash on the 1400 Block of First Street Wednesday at 9:16 p.m. was canceled en route.
Havre Animal Shelter
The shelter Monday morning held three 3-week-old kittens, three 5-week-old kittens and three 1-week-old kittens all of unknown gender, one female 12-week-old kitten, four female cats, four male cats, a male 6-month-old kitten and a female 15-week-old kitten.

The shelter also held two male mixed breed dogs, a male pit bull terrier, a male border collie, a female 9-month-old border collie puppy, three male 8-month-old mixed-breed puppies and a male pit bull-border collie cross. Also, a female 8-month-old mixed-breed puppy and a male mixed-breed dog was listed in foster care.
