As case numbers creep up again in Montana, Blaine County Health Department reported Friday the county’s 34th COVID-19-related death.
The release said that from June 7 through Friday, the health department was notified of 16 new cases with 30 recoveries.
As of Friday, Blaine County had eight active cases and one active hospitalization with 2,534 cases confirmed since coronavirus 2019 first was discovered in Montana in March 2020.
The release asked Blaine County residents to “please be vigilant: COVID is not over. Please wash your hands, cover your cough and sneezes, stay away from sick people, stay home when you’re sick. All of these mitigation efforts will help control the spread of illness.
“Above all else, please be kind,” the release added.
The release from the Hill County Health Department, issued last Monday, reported 26 new cases confirmed in Hill County with 15 active cases and no hospitalizations.
Hill County has had a total of 4,878 cases and 74 deaths.
The state weekly tracking map released Friday reported six new cases in Chouteau County for the week with four active cases.
The map reported 15 new cases for the week in Liberty County with 13 active cases.
The Friday state map reported 2,340 active cases in the state with 2,078 new cases in the week. The state has had 3,440 deaths.
