Mick was born November 3, 1932, to Joe and Louise (Doney) Briere in Chinook, MT. He was the last child of 14 children. He was raised and attended school there until his high school graduation in 1952. During his high school years he excelled at several sports, earning certificates in football, basketball, and boxing.
In 1959 Mick married Pauline St. Marks and the couple had four children, Marsha, Robert, Ronnie, and Burke. He also had two daughters from a previous marriage, Grace and Sherry.
Mick joined the National Guard and served his country for nine years. Mick loved working with his hands. He was a wonderful carpenter and a sheep shearer. As long as he was busy, he was happy. He enjoyed the outdoors, fishing and caring for his lawn. His favorite place to vacation was the Flathead Valley area and he always went to pick the Flathead cherries.
Mick was a selfless man, always helping his family and his community in any way he could. He was an early riser so he always knew what was going on before anyone else was awake. He enjoyed his trips to Walmart to get his donuts and to McDonald just for the fries.
Mick was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Pauline, in 2016; his daughter, Marsha Grimwood, and son Robert Briere Jr. and daughter-in-law Tona Evans; his 13 siblings.
He is survived by his two sons Ronnie Briere and Burke Briere, both of Box Elder; five granddaughters, Nikki, Elisha and Sierra Grimwood, Tia Ward and Samantha Winsor; seven great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
