Obituary - Alvera Viginia (Philippi) Wickstrom

Alvera Viginia (Philippi) Wickstrom passed away January 28th, 2022, in Havre, MT.

She was born July 12th, 1927, in Laredo, MT. She was the third of eight children born to Fred Philippi and Roselia Nuemillek

Upon graduation from Havre High School in 1945, Alvera went to work as a telephone operator for Mountain Bell.

Alvera met Howard L. Tibbetts and the couple married in 1953. The couple had four children in three years, Cynthia, Debra and twins John and Charles.

In 1980, Alvera would retire from Mountain Bell after 35 years of service. Alvera met H.D. "Lindy" Wickstrom and the couple married in 1980. They would make their home in Brookings, SD, for the next 38 yrs. Alvera and Lindy traveled throughout the U.S. and Europe following Lindy's career as pipeline manager. They spent many winters in Mesa, Arizona, enjoying a wide circle of friends.

Upon Lindy's passing in 2018, our Mom returned to Havre.

She was preceded in death by her parents, siblings Ann, Erna, Rodger, Don, Leo and Lester; her children Cynthia and Charles.

She is survived by sister Evelyn, children Debra (Jim) Thompson, John (Kristine Christensen); grandchildren, Edelene (Craig) Ohman, Rosalind (Jay) Chedotal, Eric (Andrew Sinclair) Tibbetts and Kevin Tibbetts; great-grandchildren, Wesley and Davis Ohman, Georgia Renee and Josiah Chedtal and many nieces and nephews.

A graveside service will be held at Highland Cemetery at 2 p.m. June 17th, 2022.
