Havre Police Department

A Fourth Street caller asked Tuesday at 9:40 a.m. to speak with an officer about a theft, forgery or fraud.

A Tuesday 11:46 p.m. caller on Fourth Street asked to speak with an officer about a firearm possibly stolen from a vehicle.

A hit and run crash at a First Avenue business was reported at 2:49 p.m. Tuesday.

--

A Ninth Avenue caller asked Tuesday at 4:56 p.m. to speak with an officer about getting scammed in the purchase of a rifle.

April Dawn Chiefstick of Box Elder, 46, was arrested on charges of forgery-counterfeit, theft of labor or services or use of property, obstructing a peace officer or other public servant, possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of dangerous drugs and "attempt" and on three Justice or City court warrants and a pick up and hold order after a caller at a Second Street business reported Tuesday at 8:27 p.m. that a woman tried to pay with a $10 bill that said "motion pictures only" on it.

Matthew Michael Converse of Havre, 45, was arrested on charges of assault with a weapon, disorderly conduct and two counts of assault with reasonable apprehension of harm after a caller at a First Street business reported Tuesday at 9:54 p.m. that customers, one of whom was possibly intoxicated, were scuffling.

Guillaume Methot of Fort Nelson, British Columbia, was arrested on charges of disorderly conduct, trespass to property and resisting arrest after a caller at a First Street West business reported a man was threatening workers and punching windows at 11:54 p.m. Tuesday.

Hill County Sheriff's Office

A 12-year-old was issued a summons on a charge of underage tobacco possession or consumption after an offense was reported at Box Elder School Tuesday at 1:07 p.m.

Kaneesha Dawn Slagel of Helena, 26, was arrested on charges of obstructing a peace officer or other public servant, resisting arrest and shoplifting after a theft was reported at a U.S. Highway 2 West business at 9:34 p.m. Tuesday.

Havre Fire Department

Havre Fire Department's server was down so full details could not be provided, but the report from Fire Chief Mel Paulson this morning was:

Emergency medical technicians responded to three calls Tuesday. And firefighters responded to two calls with a morning call to First Street to assist with a broken gas line and an evening call to investigate a chlorine smell, with no fumes detected.

Havre Animal Shelter

The shelter this morning held three 5-week-old kittens, four 8-week-old kittens and one cat all of unknown gender, five female cats and five male cats. Another four 6-week-old kittens were being cared for in a foster home.

The shelter also held a male mixed-breed dog, three male and one female 6-month-old mixed-breed puppies, a male 7-month-old mixed-breed puppy, a female Rottweiler dog and a female mixed-breed dog. And being fostered are two 9-month-old dachshund puppies and a male mixed-breed dog.
