As Havre High spring sports competed in their divisionals this past weekend, the rest of the Hi-Line has not been idle. This past Thursday and Friday in Great Falls, the rest of the Hi-Line was busy as several schools from the District 9C competed in the Northern C Divisionals.
The Fort Benton Longhorns had the best weekend as both the boys and girls teams finished second in their respective meets. Belt took first in both the boys and girls track meets. The Fort Benton boys team scored 77.5 points in the meet to take second. After winning the 9C the previous week, several Longhorns continued their postseason success at divisionals.
Devin Bird continued his great postseason for the Longhorns as he took first in the 400-meter sprint with a time of 52.69. He also took fourth in the 800-meter dash with a time of 2:08.19 and he placed sixth in the 200-meter sprint with a time of 23.59.
Fort Benton's Mateo Socorro also ran well this past weekend. He placed second in the 200 with a time of 23.23 and he finished fifth in the 100 with a time of 11.82.
Dane Byle performed well in several field events over the weekend. He took second in the long jump with a distance of 20-02 and he finished second in the discus with a distance of 139-04. He also placed third in the shot put with a distance of 42-08.
The Longhorns had high finishes in many other events at the meet. Tim Lane took third in the pole vault with a height of 11-06 and Landis Arganbright finished third in the 400 with a time of 53.49. Colter Ball took second in the javelin with a distance of 152-03 and Teagan Reimer finished sixth in the pole vault with a distance of 9-06.
Fort Benton also did well in the relay events. In the 1,600 relay, Arganbright, Lane, Bird and Kaden Bach led Fort Benton to a second-place finish with a time of 3:36.76. In the 400 relay, the team of Bach, Arganbright, Socorro and Nathan Dunham finished fifth with a time of 45.33.
The Fort Benton girls team scored 58 points to finish second in its meet. Cloe Kalanick had a great day for the Longhorns as she took first in both the shot put and the discus. She recorded a distance of 36-01 in the shot put and she posted a distance of 124-04 in the discus.
Jenna Dunham had a great day running for the Longhorns. She finished first in the 200 with a time of 26.76 and she finished third in the 100 with a time of 13.43. In the high jump, Angeline Riener took first with a height of 4-10. Kylynn Nack took first in the pole vault with a height of 7-03.
The Fort Benton girls team also did well in the relays. In the 400 relay, Kalanick, Riener, Jasmin Hogele and Sarah Clark led Fort Benton to sixth place with a time of 56.48. In the 1,600 relay, the team of Riener, Clark, Hogele and Ela Blum finished sixth with a time of 4:47.42.
Both the Chinook boys and girls teams finished fifth in their respective meets. The Chinook boys team scored 34 points thanks to the efforts of several athletes throughout the meet. Toby Niederegger had the best day for the Sugarbeeters as he took first in the high jump with a height of 6-02. In the long jump, Hunter Molyneaux finished third with a distance of 19-11.
Levi Jensen did well in multiple events for Chinook. He finished fifth in the 110-meter hurdles with a time of 17.87 and he placed fifth in the high jump with a height of 5-08. He also placed sixth in the 300-meter hurdles with a time of 44.40.
Braxton Inman also had a solid day for Chinook. He finished fifth in the 300-meter hurdles with a time of 43.94. He placed sixth in the 100 with a time of 11.85 and he took sixth in the 110-meter hurdles with a time of 18.06. His teammate Landen Beck did well in the 3,200 with a time of 11:21.57 to finish sixth.
Chinook ran well in both relay events. In the 400 relay, Niederegger, Molyneaux, Inman and Tyler Schoen led Chinook to fourth with a time of 45.32. In the 1,600 relay, the team of Inman, Jensen, Schoen and Danny McKenzie took fourth with a time of 3:44.76.
The Chinook girls team scored 44 points in its meet. Hallie Neibauer ran well in several events at divisionals. She finished second in the 400 with a time of 1:04.28 and she took second in the 800 with a time of 2:31.12. She also placed sixth in the 200 with a time of 28.28.
Alexus Seymour also did well as she took third in the 800 with a time of 2:32.91 and she placed sixth in the 400 with a time of 1:07.18. Anna Terry ran well in the long distance as she took second in the 3,200 with a time of 12:43.88 and she placed third in the 1,600 with a time of 5:54.67.
In the 1,600 relay, the Chinook team of Seymour, Terry, Neibauer and Aspyn Colby took third with a time of 4:31.70.
In both the boys and girls meets, Chester-Joplin-Inverness took sixth. In the boys meet, the Hawks scored 32 points thanks to many strong performances. Kyle Harmon had a great day for the Hawks. He finished third in the 100 with a time of 11.54 and he finished fourth in the triple jump with a distance of 40-01.75. He also placed fifth in the 200 with a time of 23.59.
Bryce Kammerzell did well for the Hawks. In the 110-meter hurdles, he took third with a time of 17.34. He also took third in the javelin with a distance of 147-10. His teammate Ryder Cole finished second in the pole vault with a height of 12-00.
The CJI girls team scored 36 points in its meet. After a great performance in the District 9C track meet, Tatum Hull continued her postseason success. This past weekend, she finished first in both the 100 and the 100-meter hurdles. She posted a time of 13.11 in the 100 and she recorded a time of 16.14 in the hurdles. She also took second in the 200 with a time of 26.86 and she finished third in the long jump with a distance of 15-07.5.
Some of her teammates also did well at divisionals. In the 300-meter hurdles, Haddie Woods took sixth with a time of 52.42. Averie Mattson finished sixth in the javelin with a distance of 97-00.
The North Star boys team finished eighth in its meet with 28 points. Carter Campbell ran well for the Knights at divisionals as he took first in the 800 with a time of 2:07.09. He also placed third in the 3,200 with a time of 10:57.01 and he took fifth in the 1,600 with a time of 4:57.79.
Gavin Clawson did well in the throwing events for the Knights. He took second in the shot put with a distance of 46-06.5 and he finished fifth in the discus with a distance of 121-03.
The Big Sandy girls team scored 34 points to finish tied for eight in its meet alongside Denton-Geyser-Stanford. Many Pioneers performed well in several events throughout the meet. Eva Wagoner finished fourth in both hurdles as she posted a time of 17.12 in the 100 hurdles and she recorded a time of 50.25 in the 300 hurdles.
Alex Worral ran well in several events for Big Sandy. She finished sixth in the 800 with a time of 2:39.64 and she took sixth in the 1,600 with a finish of 6:09.74.
Many other Pioneers performed well at the meet. Eva Yeadon took second in the high jump with a height of 4-10 and Jaihven Baumann finished second in the triple jump with a distance of 32-04. Malaysia Baumann finished fifth in the triple jump with a distance of 30-04.
The Pioneers ran well in the relays. In the 400 relay, Wagoner, Jaihven Baumann, Carmen Tan and Lainey Terry led Big Sandy to third place with a time of 54.83. In the 1,600 relay, the team of Yeadon, Kaya Demontiney, Mattie Gasvoda and Angela Sant took fifth with a time of 4:43.69.
The Big Sandy boys team finished ninth in divisionals with 14 points. Wylee Snapp finished high in several events as he took third in the discus with a distance of 133-00 and he finished fifth in the shot put with a distance of 40-07.75.
In the triple jump, Kody Strutz took fifth with a distance of 39-10.25. In the javelin, Cooper Taylor finished fifth with a distance of 142-11. In the 1,600 relay, Taylor, Strutz, Rusty Gasvoda and Austin Haugen led Big Sandy to fifth place with a time of 3:49.87.
The North Star girls team scored 30 points to finish 11th. Kaytlyn Domire had a great day for the Knights as she did well in the throwing events. She finished second in the javelin with a distance of 104-00 and she took third in the discus with a distance of 100-08. She placed fourth in the shot put with a distance of 32-06.75.
Many other Knights performed well at divisionals. Rainee Watson took fourth in the discus with a distance of 100-00 and she finished fourth in the javelin with a distance of 98-02. Laramie Peterson took fifth in the pole vault with a height of 6-00 and Choral Wicks placed fifth in the javelin with a distance of 97-02.
In the boys meet, Turner finished 16th with two points. Ryan Doyle finished fifth in the 800 with a time of 2:08.78.
In the girls meet, Box Elder scored three points to take 17th. Meiyah Sutherland took fifth in the high jump with a height of 4-08 and she finished sixth in the long jump with a distance of 14-09.5.
The top athletes from the Northern C Divisionals will now advance to the Class B-C State Track Meet, which will take place from this Thursday to Saturday in Great Falls.
