Hi-Line Athletes of the Week

A big senior year continued last week for Chinook's Toby Niederegger. The standout won the high jump with a leap of 6-02 at last Tuesday's Cal Wearley Invitational in Havre. Niederegger, who starred in football and basketball for Chinook, also finished second in the 100 meters and fifth in the long jump, while running the relays for the Chinook boys track team.

Havre High junior Avery Carlson continues her incredible school year. Last weekend in Frenchtown, Carlson pitched three times at the Frenchtown Invitational, winning games against Hamilton and Stevensville. At the plate, Carlson also went a combined 5-for-10 for the Blue Ponies, who went 2-2 on the weekend. Carlson is a standout on the volleyball court and an All-State selection in basketball.
