Saturday, May 7, KNMC is hosting its fifth annual Tribute concert, sponsored by Claire and Jon Stoner, in Pepin Park.
Tribute is KNMC’s graduation celebration for Montana State University-Northern and will feature seven homegrown tribute acts who will dress up and perform the music of their favorite artists.
Tribute is one of two annual live music events organized by KNMC, the other being Rock Lotto. Both events serve as intramurals for musicians in that they mix teams of players together for one-off performances. Tribute is the spring event and Rock Lotto is held in the fall during Havre Festival Days.
Tribute bands this year include Moisten, a tribute to Poison; The Rusty Ravens, a tribute to The Black Crowes; Shiver Brains, a Big Sandy Rock Camp tribute to the evolution of punk; Negative Creep, an acoustic tribute to Nirvana; Sign with the Devil, a tribute to The Pretty Reckless; Joey Melon Cougar Camp, a tribute to John Mellencamp, and Dicnar, a punk rock tribute.
Food from Streatery and Pretty Paint catering as well drinks from Vic’s Bar Catering will be available for purchase. The event is free to attend, but donations are encouraged to help cover the costs of hiring professional sound and venue rental.
Attendees are encouraged to bring lawn chairs and blankets.
“Our thanks to the talented music community of the Hi-Line and the people who help make this event happen each year,” a release about the event said. “KNMC would also like to thank the students of MSU-Northern and congratulate all of this year’s graduates for their hard work.”
