A Harlem High School teacher is being held in the Valley County jail on rape accusations stemming from allegations he had sexual relations in the school with one of his students.
Blaine County Sheriff John Colby said this morning in a press release that Jack G. Young was arrested Friday on charges of sexual abuse of children, indecent exposure and sexual intercourse without consent.
Colby said charges in district court are expected to be filed this week.
Young was being held this morning in the Valley County Detention Center in Glasgow without bond on some of the charges.
The release said someone told Blaine County sheriff’s deputies April 13 about a sexual assault on a minor complaint. The minor alleged that a sexual relationship had begun and progressed in the high school with Young, the release said.
The release said the deputies began an investigation in conjunction with the Federal Bureau of Investigation and the Montana Department of Criminal Investigation.
After gathering ample evidence, the release said, the deputies applied for and were granted a warrant to search Young’s residence. The sheriff’s office, FBI and Department of Criminal Investigation executed the search at 9:46 p.m. Friday.
The release said Young was read his Miranda rights and interviewed on the scene. Upon completion of the search he was arrested on the charges for which he is being held.
The release said the investigation is ongoing.
