Eager Beaver disc golf tournament set for May 14

Planned as annual event

Press release

Havre Trails has announced the first Eager Beaver Disc Golf Tournament Saturday, May 14, at the Normandy Coulee Disc Golf Course south of Havre, with the tournament planned as an annual event.

The course, built in 2021, is located near Rotary Campground in Beaver Creek Park, at GPS coordinates 48.270234, -109.650788.

It will be an 18-hole tournament playing on a nine-hole course using alternate tees throughout the round. The event is sponsored by Northstar Athletics, Fidelity Diagnostics, and Triple Dog Brewing Co.

The course consists of long drives and good views; the original nine-hole layout runs one mile through saddles in the rolling Bear Paw Mountains, providing a great hike. The alternate tees will provide shorter holes interspersed throughout the original long-driving layout, along with unique views of the course.

Participants can register online at Disc Golf Scene - Havre Trails Eager Beaver Disc Golf Tournament (2022, Havre Trails) at https://www.discgolfscene.com/tournaments/Havre_Trails_Eager_Beaver_Disc_Golf_Tournament_2022 up until Thursday, May 12, at noon, or register on-site the day of the tournament starting at 9 a.m. if spots are available. People who are not able to register online can call 406-344-2991 for registration prior to tournament day.

The registration fee is $15, which includes Friday-Sunday camping at Rotary Campground. A limited supply of 50 custom tournament discs will be available for purchase during registration.

The player meeting will be at 9:45 a.m. Saturday, May 14, with tee off at 10:30 a.m. If more than 45 players register, a second tee-time will be used to keep up pace of play. The player meeting for the second tee-time would be at 1:45 p.m. with tee-off at 2:30. The top five players win discs. In the case of any tie, a sudden-death playoff will take place.

"Come check out this unique new course," Havre Trails said in a release.
