Hi-Line Athletes of the Week

The Havre High boys track team has won two meets so far this season, including last Friday’s Havre Lions Invitational. A big point scorer in that meet for the Ponies was sophomore Caleb Tomac, who swept the 1,600 and 3,200 meters and also helped the Ponies win the 1,600 relay. Tomac, who is also a standout cross country runner for the Ponies, won the 1,600 in 4:51.84 and the 3,200 in 11:39.00.

In their only true home meet of the season, Havre Blue Pony doubles team Grace Crantz and Courtney Burchard made the most of the Havre Invitational. The duo didn’t lose a single match over two days, going 3-0 in dual play last Friday, then winning three times to capture the Havre Invite girls doubles championship on Saturday. Crantz is a returning All-Conference performer for the Ponies, while Burchard is in her second season. Both also compete in swimming at HHS.
