Obituary - Linda Dianne Howerton

Linda Dianne Howerton was born August 28, 1948, in Havre, MT, to Donna Minnick and Ronald Weisbrod. March 19, 2022, she passed away surrounded by her children.

She grew up in Havre and spent most of her life there calling it her home. She was the oldest of her siblings and the only girl. Her five brothers were blessed to have her as a mother figure and a forever friend. She had four children who were the light of her life, and she shines through each one.

She worked most of her life working at many places, including Kmart, Walmart, and Tire-Rama. You were blessed if you got to go to Tire-Rama and see her smiling face or visit with her. She made everyone feel special and loved. You may even remember her from the Quilter Addiction, a quilt shop she ran with her daughter and sister-in-law in Havre.

In her free time, she enjoyed crocheting, sewing, quilting, reading, puzzles and mostly spending time with her family. Her children and grandchildren were her prized possessions. She cherished each and every member of her family and had a close personal relationship with each of them.

She was a woman of strong faith. A saint, if you will. She was not afraid to share her faith with others and would often pray for you or let you know what the Bible and God had to say about your situation. You always walked away knowing you were loved. She was a gift, a blessing and an inspirations to her family. she was our rock giving us peace, security, and live. She was deeply lived by all of us and will be greatly missed. We thank the Lord for the years she was granted to be our mom, sister, aunt, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Now she sits at the feet of Jesus at peace and in love with her creator.

Linda was preceded in death by her parents and her grandparents.

She is survived by her children, Rick (Tami) Carlson of Havre, Jody (Scott) Campbell of Cut Bank, Wes (Corina) Carlson of Havre, and Brandy (Spencer) Barger of Montrose, CO; her brothers, Randy (Stephanie) Minnick of Missoula, Mark Minnick of Havre, Mike (Linda) Minnick of Havre, Greg (Mikell) Minnick of Havre and Danny Minnick of Havre; her grandchildren, Krystal (Mike) Loring of Cut Bank, Justin Carlson of Havre, Shania (Jordan Hawkins) Carlson of McKinney, TX, Tucker (Taylor Marinkovich) Carlson of Kent, WA, and Cody Carlson of Havre; her great-grandson, Tristen Loring of Cut Bank; her nieces and nephews and many other family members.

We are are heartbroken by the loss of Linda. She left a void that cannot be filled. Her love for us will sustain us at this difficult time and moving forward. We love you and miss you mom.

Celebration of life will be Saturday, April 9, from 2-4 p.m. in the Vineyard Room at the Duck Inn.
