Public invited to attend Tiber Reservoir Public Meeting

from U.S. Bureau of Reclamation

The Bureau of Reclamation is scheduled to host a public meeting at the Chester Community/Senior Center at 618 E. Adams Ave., Chester, April 7 from 6 - 8 p.m. to discuss recreation at Tiber Reservoir

Discussion topics will include camping, fishing, boating safety and more. There will be presentations about land and recreation, state of the fisheries, aquatic invasive species, noxious weed management, and marina updates.

“The public is encouraged to attend this public meeting,” Reclamation Natural Resource Specialist Ken Scheffler said. “Questions and feedback from local users will improve the 2022 summer recreation season at Tiber Reservoir.”

There are 289 Reclamation project areas that have developed recreation facilities and opportunities available for public use. More than 100 are managed by a federal recreation partner. Reclamation has approximately 6.5 million acres of land and water, most of which is available for public outdoor recreation. The 187 developed recreation areas managed by Reclamation, or a non-Federal recreation partner, draw over 24 million visits annually.
