Red velvet cake
You know, dear Lord, red velvet cake is colorful to make. Mix white frosting to spread on top, once cake's put in to bake.
Friends love to share their recipes, then share with neighbors, too. Some soup, biscuits and cookies, too; sharing is fun to do.
When weather's cold, turn oven on, let's make biscuits today! Make large or small – they're all yummy; we'll share with neighbor Kay. "Sue" made some soup - so colorful - she'd wanted to stop in. Soup tasted good, we asked its name; 'Clean out the Fridge,' she grinned. "Celery, carrots, onions and spuds, and don't forget garlic!
Some cabbage, too, look for some green, "So now we knew her trick!" The birds and deer like the peelings, so toss some out for them. They'll wander by and take a bite! Oh! Don't forget the stem.
"Sue's" bro stopped in - "Need any help? It sure smells good," he said. "Just thought I'd come and check on you - I'm glad I brought some bread!" "I had to think: Rolls – Loaf – or Buns..." We chuckled at what he'd brought! A garlic loaf? Who likes garlic? Of course, it was store-bought! And then he smiled and asked: "Dessert?"
"Red velvet cake, dear Chad." We laughed - he gasped - he looked away - "You came and we're so glad!"
"This meal reminds me of the Lord," Chad said, taking a chair. The three held hands, Chad blessed the food, he ended with Lord's Prayer.[1] "'Give us this day our daily bread - bless velvet cake dessert." Chad cleared his throat, said one more line," I'm sure a bite won't hurt." Oh, how we laughed and all dived in - this whole meal was the best!
Yes, Chad had cake - the smallest piece - "I'm glad I was your guest."
