The sole theatrical production put on this year at Havre High School opens tonight at the high school auditorium, with Montana Actors' Theatre premiering its production of the musical "Anastasia" starting at 8 p.m.
The Broadway musical, inspired by the 1996 20th Century Fox animated musical, tells of the fall of the Russian Empire and the start of the Soviet Union, and a young woman trying to discover the story of her past.
Northern Montana Hospital is sponsoring the production, with MAT's Angela Pratt directing.
MAT worked with Havre Public Schools this year to put on a production at the high school, which has been without a theater director since last year.
The play stars Tyley Hemmer, Emme Lines, Marlee Thivierge, Tyler Vauthier, Kate Hemmer, Ada Pratt, Maggie Daniels, Scott Woods, Gray Brady, Aliviah Pratt, Willow Riggin, Hiram Cammon, Miranda Knutson and Jackson Siemens as well as an extensive chorus.
Live music from a local orchestra backs up the singers on stage.
The play runs from tonight through Saturday and Thursday through Saturday next week at the high school auditorium.
