Havre High names students of the month

Taylor Ball is a Havre High School Student of the Month for February. She is the daughter of Shawn and Megan Ball and has one sister, Hailey. Taylor is a sophomore who is active in volleyball, softball, Key Club and basketball as a manager.

Heather Haney, who nominated Taylor, said she is "an exceptional young woman. I have had the pleasure of teaching her for the past two years and it has been a joy to have her in the classroom. Her work is always wonderfully done, she is a great critical thinker and she's always got a smile on her face. Taylor's hard work and dedication extend past the classroom and into extracurricular activities as well. Taylor has been an active member of Key Club and is currently serving as the secretary. Her monthly reports are done accurately and always on time. One can always count on Taylor to offer a smile and a word of encouragement to others; and her kindness and compassion are extraordinary for someone her age. Thank you, Taylor, for your incredible work ethic, positive attitude, and genuine kindness."

In her free time, Taylor attends youth group and enjoys hanging out with friends and family, painting, drawing, helping with young children and playing with her dogs. After her time at HHS, Taylor isn't completely sure what she wants to do, but wants a job that makes a difference and allows her to help people ... and she plans to own a Tesla!

Terek Shipp is the other Havre High School student of the month for February, 2022. He is the son of Brent Shipp and Paulette Preeshl-Shipp. He has one brother, Tyler Evans.

Terek is a sophomore who is active in American Legion baseball, where playing pitcher and first base are his favorite positions. Mandy Nitz, who nominated Terek, said "Terek is a friendly, outgoing, motivated student who challenges others to do their best academically. He does not avoid difficult work, he has a great work ethic and a consistently positive attitude, excellent attendance, and a good sense of humor. In short, he's a joy to have in class."

In his free time, Terek enjoys spending time with family, especially his niece and nephew, spending time with his dog, Jetta, hunting deer, elk and coyotes, fishing, woodworking and going to the lake. After graduation, he hopes to play college baseball and earn a degree in architecture.
