MFU Scholarships deadline March 15

GREAT FALLS — The deadline for Montana Farmers Union scholarships ranging from $500 to $1,000 is fast approaching.

Students have until Tuesday, March 15, to submit their application for the Bud Daniels Memorial Scholarship, the John Korsbeck Memorial Scholarship, the MFU Scholarship, and the County Scholarships. A single application can be submitted for all the scholarships.

MFU’s website also has information about the Stanley Moore Scholarship, a $1,500 scholarship offered by the Farmers Union Industries Foundation.

The longstanding scholarships are a way to help support MFU members in their future endeavors and underscore the importance of education to MFU.

“Agriculture can be a wide variety of things. It’s not just on the farm. So going to college and learning different fields is important, and we want to encourage that,” MFU Education Coordinator Violet Green said.

The MFU scholarships are available to students throughout their collegiate careers, Green said, encouraging students who are already attending college as well as high school seniors to apply.

More information about the scholarships, as well as links to the applications, can be found at http://montanafarmersunion.com/education/scholarships-grants .
