A man was arrested on several charges and warrants Friday including for fleeing Havre police in a vehicle reported as stolen on Rocky Boy’s Indian Reservation.
Officers on the 100 Block of 12th Avenue attempted at 2:24 p.m. to pull over a vehicle that matched the description of a missing Ford Escape and was being driven by Jerome Lane Bigknife of Rocky Boy, 29, who was wanted on six Justice or City court warrants, Police Chief Gabe Matosich said.
Bigknife, with one passenger in the vehicle, fled from officers, driving west. Hill County deputy sheriffs also joined in the chase.
The vehicle chase turned into a foot chase at the front doors of Walmart where Bigknife stopped the car then fled on foot through the store to the north entrance, Matosich said.
Bigknife was apprehended at the service department, Matosich added, and he is being held on two counts of criminal endangerment; motor vehicle theft; fleeing or eluding a peace officer; trespass to vehicles; obstructing a peace officer or other public servant; driving with a suspended or revoked driver’s license; open container on highway, and possession of drug paraphernalia, along with the six warrants. He is being held on $55,400 bond.
The passenger, Mindy Dubois of Havre, 24, stayed in the vehicle, Matosich said, and was arrested on possession of drug paraphernalia and on a City Court warrant. She is being held on $1,170 bond.
