Continue success by donating Tuesday
Press release
The Chinook Community has again been recognized by the American Red Cross as one of its Premier Blood Partners for 2021, a prestigious honor, for its support of the community and national blood supply.
Last year, the Chinook Community helped the Red Cross collect 305 units of blood as part of its commitment to help save lives of patients facing illnesses and injuries in this community and across the country. We are proud to be a part of the Red Cross mission that helps ensure lifesaving blood is available for patients in need. Every day, volunteer blood and platelet donors across the country are needed to help save lives. Blood and platelets are needed for accident and burn victims, heart surgery and organ transplant patients, and those receiving treatment for leukemia, cancer or sickle cell disease, according to the Red Cross.
We became a member of the Pump It Up Premier Blood Partners in 2021 by increasing our total number of donations by 30 or more.
According to the Red Cross there is still a National Blood Crisis and “the situation is dire.” So, please, come join us Tuesday, March 8, at Wallner Hall, 330 Ohio in Chinook, from noon to 6 p.m. Help us fill our schedule and save lives. Donors of all blood types are needed.
Remember, blood is a perishable product that can only come from volunteer blood donors like yourself.
Community members as well as those from surrounding communities are urged to come out and roll up a sleeve to give the gift of life. The donation process only takes about an hour and can make an enormous difference for a patient battling illness or injury. To schedule an appointment to donate blood, visit http://www.redcrossblood.org or call 1-800-RedCross (1-800-733-2767 ) If you don’t want to make an appointment, that is ok, walk ins are always welcome.
So, come on over, bring a friend to donate with you, bring your family. After your donation, to replenish your fluids and strength, you can enjoy the best blood drive canteen on the Hi-Line with all of the wonderful homemade sandwiches and baked goods. Hope we get to see you there.
