Text: Patrick Johnston The 100 Block of Third Avenue had to be blocked off by Havre Public Works Wednesday while workers excavated the street on the block. Water service on the block was disrupted due to an old lead service line leaking, and while the water main the line has been fixed, part of the road may still be closed off for some of today. Havre Public Works Director Dave Peterson said the line that started leaking was probably part of a water system installed in the 1920s and was fixed Wednesday afternoon, but the hole may still need work this morning. Peterson said the main that the service line was connected to is back in service now that the leaking line has been removed and the hole it left filled, so hopefully everything will be patched up and back to normal by this afternoon.
