They needed a win. And Great Falls proved just the place to do it.

Argos sweep Skylights
The MSU-Northern women battled Saturday afternoon in Great Falls. But it wasn’t enough to get by the 15th-ranked Providence Argos inside the McLaughlin Center.
The Skylights lost to Providence 76-64 on Thursday in Great Falls. The Argos took the lead in the first quarter 24-14. They extended the lead going into halftime 41-28. Providence kept a stead lead until the fourth quarter. The Skylights battled back to cut the lead to eight, but wasn't enough to win.
“We had a very bad first quarter,” MSU-N head coach Chris Mouat said. “Providence came out shooting the ball extremely well both inside and out. We did not defend well in zone and left too many shooters. After that I thought we dug our heels in and did a much better job on both ends of the floor. We got a lot of production off of our bench and some kids had some nice games for us. We just have to put a complete 40 minute game together. We did have too many turnovers with 16 and they scored a lot of points off of turnovers so it's going to be a continual focus for us moving forward. We gave ourselves a chance in the fourth and I’m proud of the guts we showed to come back.”
The Skylights were led by L'Tia Lawrence, who had 14 points going 5-11 from the field. Sydney Hovde had a monster game with 13 points and 12 rebounds. Danielle Tyler added 11 points off the bench, as Peyton Kehr added 10. The Argos were led by Emilee Maldonado, who had 24 points going 9-19 from the field. Parker Esary had a double-double with 15 points and 12 rebounds. Maddy Dixon added 11 points going 4-4 from the field.
MSU-N is 1-11 in the Frontier. The Skylights host Rocky Mountain College Thursday night and Western Saturday afternoon.
