Press release
The Montana Department of Transportation has announced — and invited the public to comment on — a proposal to resurface about 8 miles of U.S. Highway 2, east and west of Devon.
The project begins about 3 miles east of Dunkirk and extends east ending 2 miles east of Devon.
Proposed work includes crack sealing, seal and cover, fog seal and updated pavement markings. These improvements will preserve and extend the life of the roadway and increase vehicle traction to the surface.
The project is tentatively scheduled for construction in 2023, depending on completion of all project development activities and availability of funding. No new right-of-way or relocation of utilities will be required.
An important part of properly planning for future projects is partnering with the community. The Montana Department of Transportation welcomes the public to provide ideas and comments on the proposed project. Comments may be submitted online at http://www.mdt.mt.gov/mdt/comment_form.shtml or in writing to Montana Department of Transportation, Great Falls office at PO Box 1359, Great Falls, MT 59403-1359. Please note that comments are for project UPN 9950000.
The public is encouraged to contact Great Falls District Preconstruction Engineer James Combs at 406- 454-5900 or District Projects Engineer Chris Ward at 406-454-5894.
