Blue Pony swimming competes in Stacey Frey Memorial Invitational

In their first action in two weeks, the Havre High swim teams swam in the Stacey Frey Memorial Invitational in Great Falls this past Saturday. In the large meet, the HHS boys team finished eighth and the HHS girls team placed 12th.

The HHS boys swim team scored 84 points to take eighth out of 11 teams in the meet. Great Falls High School placed first with a score of 212 points while Gallatin High School took second and Billings Central placed third. The HHS girls swim team scored 14 points to finish 12th. Great Falls High School took first in the girls meet with a score of 275 points while CM Russell High School took second and Billings Central took third.

The HHS boys team had several solid finishes from its swimmers. In the boys 100-yard backstroke, Wyatt Hagstrom took third with a time of 1:08.83. In the boys 100-yard breaststroke, Hiram Cammon took fourth with a time of 1:14.96. In the boys 200-yard IM, Carson Sandstrom placed sixth with a time of 2:33.47.

The HHS boys relay teams also had some good finishes. In the boys 200-yard medley relay, the HHS 'A' team finished sixth with a time of 2:01.46. In the boys 400-yard freestyle relay, the HHS 'A" team took sixth with a time of 4:12.85.

The Blue Ponies will finish up the regular season when they swim at a meet in Great Falls this Friday. The Ponies will then compete in the state meet in Great Falls from Feb. 11-12.
