A bit of humor
You know, Lord, humor is everywhere. We can look at health, exercise and even Alzheimer's, which, we're told, that even dogs can get! One way to slow Alzheimer's, is to go for a walk - with your dog. Fresh air and exercise help the walker as well as the dog. No wonder neighbors are out there walking their dogs. They probably read that, too, and want to keep their pets and themselves healthy.
Friends had some deer that "visited" their place. Neighbor kids got together and chatted about the deer. The Daddy came out to see what was going on. One kid said, I know you name the deer, that one is "Bambi," over there is "Limpy," the buck is "Big Boy," but what did you name that deer with only one eye? The Daddy smiled and said, "One-eyed deer." The kid stood and looked, then asked, "So, what would you name a deer if he had no eyes?" Daddy laughed and said, "No eye-deer?"
An elderly gal shared an amusing recipe: "RECIPE FOR A WONDERFUL DAY."
1 c. friendly words; 2 heaping c. understanding; 2 c. milk of human kindness; 4 tsp. time and patience; a pinch of warm personality; add a dash of dry humor, spice of life.
Measure words carefully. Add heaping cups of understanding to milk of human kindness and sift together three times before using. Make a smooth sauce, not too thick. Use generous amounts of time and patience and cook. Keep temperature low, do not boil. Add a dash of dry humor, pinch of warm personality and season to taste with the spice of life. Serve with individual molds. Works best when made by a good mixer.
Lord, You gave us humor and laughter, which is good for our souls; read Proverbs 17:22: "A cheerful heart does good like a medicine: but a broken spirit makes one sick."
Love, Mara
