Havre Police Department

Officers investigated a possible drug offense after a crystal substance was reported found at a First Street West business Wednesday at 2:52 p.m.

Darnell Kay Champagne of Havre, 43, was issued a summons on an assault charge after someone stopped at the police station Wednesday at 7:51 p.m. to report that people he was staying with had assaulted him.

Hill County Sheriff's Office

Garrick Allan Ferguson of Box Elder, 49, was issued a summons on a shoplifting charge after a Wednesday 11:02 a.m. caller at a U.S. Highway 2 West business reported a theft from the previous day.

Havre Fire Department

Emergency medical personnel responded to six calls Wednesday and one this morning. One call was accompanying firefighters investigating a possible smoke detection on the 400 Block of Sixth Avenue at 9:20 p.m. Wednesday. No evidence of smoke or fire was found.

Havre Animal Shelter

The shelter this morning held one 9-month-old kitten of unknown gender, nine male cats, seven female cats, two male 6-month-old kittens, one female 19-week-old kitten and a male 8-month-old kitten.

The shelter also held two male and four female 8-week-old mixed-breed puppies, a male German shepherd, a female mixed-breed dog, a female shepherd, a female 22-week-old mixed-breed puppy and a female 14-week-old mixed-breed puppy. Also held separately are four 5-week-old puppies, three 4-week-old puppies and a female 9-month-old puppy, all mixed-breeds.
