Missing last season was tough for a competitor like Chester-Joplin-Inverness’ Tatum Hull. But she’s back with a vengeance. Hull, now a senior at CJI, scored 14 points and grabbed 10 rebounds in her last game before the New Year, and she’s nearly averaging a double-double as the Hawks are off to a good start in the District 9C this season. Hull is already an accomplished volleyball and basketball player at CJI, and will also excel on the track this spring.
In what was supposed to be a huge showdown, Rocky Boy’s Sean Gibson stole the show. In a late-December game against Harlem, Gibson scored 24 points as Rocky Boy rolled to a 90-58 victory over the rival Wildcats. Gibson is a two-time all Northern B performer for the Stars, and he’s helping them get off to a really good start this winter. Gibson is a three-year starter as well for the Stars, of head longtime coach Adam Demontiney.
