With a wealth of experience now under this belt, former Havre Blue Pony Parker Filius is full steam ahead for the Purdue Boilermakers.
Wrestling at 141 pounds, Filius, a two-time All Big-Ten standout, placed fifth at last weekend's Mattmen Open at the University of Illinois. Filius won four matches at the open tournament, which is a prelude to the upcoming Big-Ten season.
Heading into the conference season, Filius is 6-0 in duals, and also has a sixth-place finish the Cliff Keen Las Vegas Invitational last month. Filius is currently ranked No. 13 for the Boilermakers, who are in the NCAA Top 20.
Filius and the Boilermakers open conference matches Thursday at Nebraska, followed by a huge dual at Iowa Sunday. Fans can watch the Iowa dual on the Big Ten Network.
