Donald V. King Jr., 73, passed away from natural causes on December 6, 2021, in Great Falls, MT.
Don was born March 23, 1948, in Whitefish, MT, to Donald Sr. and Barbara King.
Don attended school in Whitefish, graduating in 1966. He proudly earned Eagle Scout rank with the BSA in 1964.
Upon graduating high school, Don served in the U.S. Army, and continued his military career in both the National Guard and Army reserves, including serving in the Vietnam, Iraq and Afghanistan wars.
Don attended college at MSU in Bozeman and received his associate of science degree from Flathead Community College.
He married Leila Ann Luce in 1970. They had two daughters and lived in three states before settling in Havre. Don and Leila later divorced.
He married Suzanne Cortwright and had a joyous marriage until her death in 2015.
Throughout his storied life, Don worked as a licensed land surveyor, retiring from the MT DOT after a 26-year career. Don always kept busy and held many odd jobs before and after retirement.
Don was preceded in death by his parents; baby sister Peggy; wife, Suzanne, and her son Robbie.
He is survived by daughters Louann (Logan) LaSalle and Karen (Shane) Kenfield; Suzanne's children Krystina (Jim) Kolstad, and Ronald Mammen; brother, Scott (Doris) King; sister Michelle (Brian) McDowell; grandchildren, Joslin (Raymond) Knightstep, Alissa (Tyler) Schwerdtfeger, Rainy Kolstad, and Stormy (Jordan) Kolstad; great-grandchildren, Stevi Marie, Lily, and Evie; nephews, Jeff, Kelly and Kevin, and niece Jeannie.
Don's memorial service will be held at 10:30 a.m. December 18, 2021, at Hillcrest Lawn Memorial Chapel in Great Falls, MT.
