Bullhook Community Health Center receives behavioral health distinction

Bullhook Community Health Center has recently been recognized by the National Committee for Quality Assurance for Distinction in Behavioral Health Integration.

The NCQA is a private, nonprofit organization that is dedicated to improving health care quality. The NCQA Distinction in Behavioral Health Integration is awarded to NCQA-recognized patient-centered medical homes who excel in integrating behavioral health services into primary care settings.

Practices that earn NCQA’s Behavioral Health Integration Distinction have the appropriate resources and quality measures in place to care for the needs of patients with behavioral health disorders. This breaks down barriers to behavioral health care for patients and leads to improved clinical outcomes and patient satisfaction.

As a patient-centered medical home, Bullhook has worked to create a primary care setting with a complete care team including care managers, behavioral health providers and other practitioners to manage the broad needs of patients with conditions related to behavioral health, focusing on the use of evidence-based protocols and ongoing quality measurement and improvement.

Bullhook Community Health Center provides a wide range of services including routine preventative care, immunizations, well child checks, and men’s and women’s health physicals, as well as management of acute and chronic diseases, dental care, mental health and substance use disorder treatment services, along with a full-service pharmacy.
